Survey on the distribution of Red-shanked Douc in Đakrông Nature Reserve, Quang Tri province

Pygathryx nemaeus or Red-shanked Douc, is referred as the most beautiful primate in the world. Two herds of Red-shanked Douc (Pygathryx nemaeus)with 13-17 individuals have been found in the Đakrông Nature Reserve, Quảng Tri province in the survey on species population status and distribution implemented by CEGORN and closely coordinated by Management Board of Đakrông Nature Reserve.

This survey from the March to April in 2024 is one of many other tasks of the Project“Survey on population status, distribution, and monitoring capacity building of Red-shanked Douc ((Pygathrix nemaeus)) in Dakrong Nature Reserve, Quang Tri Province”..

This Project is primarily funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the Biodiversity Conservation Activity of the Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation (VFBC) Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under Decision No.1689/QĐ-BNN-HTQT dated April 22, 2021 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
