Quang Tri – In response to World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) 2026, CEGORN Center collaborated to organize a field trip to the Hac Hai Lagoon, strongly spreading the message of wetland ecosystem conservation to the community.

Fieldwork experience and igniting passion for conservation
On October 11, 2026, a field excursion marking World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD 2026) took place at the Hac Hai Lagoon. The event brought together 30 participants, including students, local experts, and CEGORN staff members.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the vital role of migratory birds, the ecological significance of the Hac Hai Lagoon, and its place along the East Asian – Australasian Flyway (EAA Flyway), while encouraging active community participation in field monitoring.

Spreading the message: “every observation matters”
The field trip concluded on an inspiring note, strengthening the connection between generations. The data, photos, and observations gathered during the journey not only enrich research databases but also reinforce the core message: every small observation by the community holds immense value for the survival of migratory birds.

Staff members from CEGORN Center participated in the field visit.

The organizing team extends its sincere gratitude to all participants, local residents, and partner organizations for coming together to make WMBD 2026 a truly memorable milestone. The ongoing journey to safeguard the green ecosystem of the Hac Hai Lagoon and protect migratory flyways will continue through concrete community actions in the future.
